Simmons, R.O.K was born out of Dr. Simmons' own journey as a young, single-parent living on welfare, facing the daunting challenges of raising her son in less-than-ideal circumstances.
Dr. Simmons' vision for Raising Our Kids INC was sparked by a pivotal moment while watching a talk show. It was a moment that shook her to her core and ignited a fire within her soul. As she witnessed the struggles of a desperate parent pleading for help with their troubled child, Dr. Simmons felt compelled to shout from the rooftops: "Raise Your Kid!"
In the midst of her own trials and tribulations, Dr. Simmons understood the profound truth that parenting is not about perfection, but about the relentless commitment to rearing and uplifting our children's developmental growth. She knew firsthand the challenges of navigating parenthood alone, yet she refused to accept the notion that someone else should take her child and "fix" them.
With unwavering determination, Dr. Simmons poured her heart and soul into raising her son, instilling in him the values of hard work, resilience, and integrity. Despite facing doubts and obstacles along the way, she remained steadfast in her mission to empower parents and reclaim the power of parenting.
But tragedy struck when Dr. Simmons' son, her pride and joy, was senselessly taken from her in a heartbreaking act of violence. The loss rocked Dr. Simmons to her core, shaking the very foundation of her purpose in R.O.K. In the depths of her grief, she questioned whether she had the strength to continue, whether her mission still mattered in the face of such devastating loss.
Yet, through her pain and sorrow, Dr. Simmons found the courage to persevere. She embarked on a journey of healing and self-discovery, seeking solace in the memories of her beloved son and finding renewed purpose in her mission to empower parents and support children's growth and development.
